Terms of Use

The rules of the road for using nomada.tools. Free to read, free to use, but the tools and content are general information — not legal, financial, or tax advice.

Last updated: May 3, 2026

The short version

You can use Nomada freely. The tools are calculators and the directory pages are editorial reviews — they’re not professional advice, and you shouldn’t make irreversible legal, immigration, financial, or tax decisions based solely on what you read here. Use them, then verify with a qualified professional.

Who these terms apply to

These terms govern your use of the website at nomada.tools (“Nomada”, “the site”) operated by an independent founder with a US LLC being formed in Wyoming. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

What Nomada is — and isn’t

Nomada is a free website with two surfaces:

  • Native tools (/tools) — calculators and utilities such as a Schengen 90/180 day-tracker, a cost-of-living comparator, a FIRE calculator, a packing checklist, and a climate finder. These compute outputs from the inputs you provide. They have no warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose.
  • Curated directory (/directory) — editorial reviews and rankings of third-party services (insurance, banking, accommodations, eSIM, etc.). The reviews are our opinions based on publicly available information at the time of writing.

Nomada is not a licensed broker, insurance agent, immigration consultant, tax advisor, financial planner, or law firm. The site does not establish any professional relationship.

Not legal, financial, immigration, or tax advice

Several of our tools and articles touch on regulated subjects: visa rules, US LLC formation, foreign bank-account reporting, expat taxation, gym pass economics, retirement math. This content is general educational information, not advice tailored to your situation.

Specifically:

  • Visa Day Tracker approximates the Schengen 90/180 rolling-window rule. Edge cases (multi-passport scenarios, Schengen-Bulgaria-Romania transitions, prior overstay history) are out of scope. Do not use the output as your sole compliance evidence at a border. Confirm with the relevant consulate or an immigration lawyer.
  • FIRE Calculator uses simplified compound-growth math that ignores taxes, sequence-of-returns risk, healthcare costs, currency fluctuation, and many other real-world factors. Treat the result as a planning anchor, not a date on a calendar.
  • Cost-of-Living Comparator uses editorial estimates aggregated from public data. Your real costs vary by neighborhood, lifestyle, and time of year.
  • Directory pagesdescribe third-party products. Always read the partner’s own terms, fee schedules, and customer reviews before signing up.

For decisions that matter — visa applications, residency moves, tax filings, large investments — engage a licensed professional in the relevant jurisdiction.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Scrape, crawl, or systematically download the site beyond the published sitemap and robots.txt
  • Resell, mirror, or rehost our editorial content without permission
  • Bypass affiliate links to defraud our partners (or us)
  • Use the tools to break any law, including immigration or tax law
  • Submit content (when forms are added) that is illegal, abusive, or infringing

Affiliate relationships

Some links on Nomada are affiliate links. The full disclosure lives at /affiliate-disclosure. Reading the directory and clicking a CTA may result in Nomada earning a commission from the partner — at no extra cost to you. Rankings are editorial and never sorted by commission.

Intellectual property

Original Nomada content — directory reviews, tool UI, brand assets — is owned by the founder / Nomada LLC. Third-party brand names, logos, and trademarks (Wise, SafetyWing, etc.) belong to their respective owners and are used here for descriptive purposes under fair use / nominative use.

You may quote short excerpts of Nomada articles with attribution and a link back. For longer quotations, syndication, or commercial use, email editorial@nomada.tools.

No warranties

The site is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We don’t guarantee uptime, error-free results, or that the tools will match your real-world situation.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Nomada and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost data, lost opportunity, or visa/immigration consequences — arising from your use of the site. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to USD $100.

Third-party services

Clicking through to a partner site takes you outside Nomada and into their own terms and privacy policies. We don’t control and aren’t responsible for the partner’s service, availability, support, or how they handle your data after you arrive on their site.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site evolves (newsletter launch, ad networks, etc.). Updates will change the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be noted in the changelog. Continued use after updates means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts seated in Wyoming. If you’re a consumer in a jurisdiction with mandatory local consumer-protection laws (e.g. EU), nothing here strips you of those protections.
