Dominica's tiny capital on the island's leeward coast — most long-stay nomads base in the cooler hill villages above the city (Wotten Waven, Trafalgar) for the rainforest-edge living rather than the muggy harbor zone. The Work In Nature DNV is among the cheapest in the Caribbean — 18 months, $100 application fee, $50K/yr income threshold. Dominica is the most-forested island in the eastern Caribbean (the Boiling Lake hike is the iconic field trip). Internet is patchier than the resort-island peers; Hurricane Maria (2017) was a major reset event and the rebuild story still shapes the housing stock.

Tropical rainforest — Dominica receives some of the highest annual rainfall in the Caribbean (the interior mountains regularly exceed 7,500mm/year), and even Roseau on the leeward coast averages 2,000mm. The brief dry window (February–April) is the cleanest working stretch.
