No formal DNV — most nomads use 90-day e-visa with periodic visa runs.
Editorial summary, not legal advice. Verify with the relevant consulate before applying — visa programs change with little notice.
Field notes
Quieter, beachier, and meaningfully cheaper than Bangkok. An Thuong is the nomad anchor — walking-distance from My Khe Beach. Vietnam still doesn't have a proper DNV, so most nomads are on tourist visas with periodic visa runs.
Coastal trade winds keep things meaningfully cooler than Bangkok. Best window is Feb–May (warm dry days, swimmable sea). Sep–Dec is monsoon season with genuine typhoon risk; many nomads relocate.
