Field notes

Mediterranean (Riviera) — among the mildest climates in Europe with very stable year-round patterns. Winter (December–February, 11–13°C average) is the rainy season but mild. Spring (March–May, 13–18°C) and autumn (September–November, 14–22°C) are the cleanest working windows. Summer (June–August, 22–25°C average) is hot and dry but moderated by the sea breeze. Rainfall is concentrated in autumn-winter; July–August are nearly bone-dry. Sea-water temperatures stay swimmable June–October.
