Naxos is the biggest of the Cyclades — bigger inland mass means real towns with year-round agricultural economies (potatoes, citra cheese, Vivlos olives) rather than tourism-dependent fishing villages. Naxos Town (Chora) on the west coast is the main port and where most nomads base; Plaka Beach on the south coast is the long-sand alternative. Filoti and Apiranthos in the interior are the cultural villages worth basing for a month if you want quiet stone-house living. Internet works in most modern Chora rentals (Cosmote fiber); fiber is sparser in the inland villages. Same Schengen 90/180 + Greek DNV story as the rest of the Cyclades.

Editorial estimates. Not financial advice. The 4% rule is a planning anchor, not a guarantee — sequence-of-returns risk and tax-jurisdiction friction (US-LLC / FEIE / state residency) can move the real number meaningfully. See our expat tax directory for the cross-border side of the math.
