Best for: Short stays for nomads with day-rates that absorb the cost.

Singapore is the most expensive city on the dataset and there's no nomad route — the long-stay paths are aimed at corporate hires (Employment Pass), founders (EntrePass), or the global elite (ONE Pass, $30k/mo income). Most nomads use it as a 1–2 week transit stop with great food and infrastructure. As a base, only the income-test paths make sense.

How to extend your stay in Singapore as a digital nomad

The standard pathway for nomads moving to Singapore. Specific income tests, processing times, and document requirements live in the visa story above and per-city cards — these are the steps you take in order.

  1. Enter on the 30 or 90-day tourist visa

Most passports get 30–90 days visa-free on arrival in Singapore (US, UK, EU, Canada, Japan, South Korea all qualify; some Asian/African passports need an e-Visa). Confirm specific allowance with the embassy before booking.

  2. Track days carefully — strictest in Asia

Singapore's immigration is among the strictest in Asia. Overstays trigger fines, bans, and prosecution risk — even by a single day. Don't push the allowance.

  3. For high-skill long-stay: ONE Pass

The Overseas Networks & Expertise (ONE) Pass is Singapore's flagship for top-earning professionals — S$30,000/month income (~$22k USD/month, ~$270k/year) requirement, 5-year duration, work rights for self and spouse. The strictest income test of any nomad-relevant visa worldwide.

  4. Or EntrePass for founders

EntrePass is for founders launching innovative Singapore-incorporated companies. Requires a business plan, S$50k paid-up capital, and innovation criteria (IP, university research partnership, accelerator backing, or industry experience). Renewable annually.

  5. Apply through MOM e-Service

Both ONE Pass and EntrePass go through the Ministry of Manpower's online portal (mom.gov.sg). Bring passport, income evidence (tax returns, employment letters), professional credentials, and the application fee.

  6. Wait 8 weeks for ONE Pass; 12–16 for EntrePass

ONE Pass processing is consistently 8 weeks. EntrePass varies more widely (12–16 weeks depending on business plan complexity). Approval comes as an In-Principle Approval (IPA) letter; the physical pass is issued on arrival.

Process subject to change — confirm current rules with the Singapore consulate before booking flights.
