Extendable tourist visas are the unsung hero of nomad arbitrage. Mexico's tourist permit can be granted up to 180 days at the border. Indonesia's 30-day extends and re-extends locally. Thailand permits 30+30+30 chains. Many South American countries permit 90+90 by exiting and re-entering. The advantage over DNVs: no application, no income proof, often no fees. The disadvantage: less stable, occasional rejection at the border, no path to residency. Each city below sits in a country where the tourist visa is materially extendable.
