Subtropical climates split the difference between tropical heat and temperate seasons — humid warm summers, mild winters that rarely freeze, long photogenic shoulder seasons. Lisbon, Porto, Buenos Aires, Tokyo, Brisbane, much of the southern US (Charleston, Savannah, Tampa) all share this pattern. For nomads who don't want either Bangkok-summer humidity or Berlin-winter darkness, subtropical is the under-mentioned sweet spot.
